There is a muscular ring where the oesophagus and stomach meet. Its full name is the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). This muscle normally relaxes as you swallow to allow food to reach your stomach. In people with achalasia, it does not relax as it should. Moreover, the normal peristalsis of the oesophagus is decreased or absent. The cause of this problem is damage to the esophageal nerves. Other illnesses include upper stomach or esophageal cancer, Chagas disease, and parasite infections can also result in similar symptoms. A tiny needle will be used by a medical practitioner to draw blood from a vein in your arm. A small amount of blood will be collected into a test tube or vial once the needle has been placed. The needle may sting somewhat when it enters or exits your body. Usually, this only needs a few minutes.
